Notification Settings
MyPerfectStay sends notifications to keep you informed about your bookings and travel plans. The notification settings screen gives you control over which notifications you receive and how you receive them, helping you stay updated without being overwhelmed.
Accessing Notification Settings
To manage your notification preferences, open the app and tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen. Look for Notifications Settings in the Settings section and tap it. This takes you to a screen where you can customize your notification preferences.
Notification settings are only available when you are logged into your account, since notifications are tied to your bookings and travel plans.
Booking Confirmation Notifications
The primary notification category in MyPerfectStay is Booking Confirmation notifications. These notifications keep you informed about important updates related to your bookings, including confirmation when you complete a booking, status changes, and other essential information about your upcoming activities.
For booking confirmations, you can control two separate channels.
Email Notifications
Email notifications for booking confirmations send detailed information to your registered email address. This includes confirmation emails with booking reference numbers, vouchers, and all the information you need for your activity. Email notifications create a permanent record you can reference later and access even when you do not have the app available.
Toggle the email option to enable or disable booking confirmation emails. We recommend keeping this enabled to ensure you always have documentation of your bookings.
Push Notifications
Push notifications appear on your device as alerts, even when you are not actively using the app. For booking confirmations, push notifications provide immediate awareness that something important has happened with your booking.
Toggle the in-app notification option to enable or disable push notifications for booking confirmations. Enabling this ensures you are promptly notified when bookings are confirmed or when there are updates you should know about.
How Notification Cards Work
On the Notifications Settings screen, each notification category appears as a card with its own description and toggle controls. The card explains what types of updates fall into that category, helping you understand exactly what you are enabling or disabling.
Each card may have separate toggles for email and push notifications, allowing you to choose your preferred channels independently. For example, you might want booking confirmations via email but prefer not to receive push notifications.
Transactional vs Optional Notifications
Some notifications are considered transactional and are essential for using the service. Booking confirmation emails fall into this category because they contain your vouchers and booking details. While you can toggle the push notification component, the core transactional emails ensure you always receive critical booking information.
Optional notifications like promotional offers or travel inspiration can typically be fully disabled if you prefer a quieter inbox.
Enabling Push Notifications on Your Device
If you enable push notifications in the app but are not receiving them, you may need to check your device settings. The app can only send push notifications if your device allows them.
On iOS Devices
Open your iPhone Settings app and scroll down to find MyPerfectStay in the list of apps. Tap on it, then tap Notifications. Make sure Allow Notifications is toggled on. You can also customize the alert style, whether notifications appear on the lock screen, and whether the app badge shows notification counts.
On Android Devices
Open your device Settings and navigate to Apps, then find MyPerfectStay in the list. Tap on Notifications and ensure notifications are enabled. Android may offer additional options like notification channels that let you customize different types of notifications separately.
Recommended Settings
For the best experience, we recommend enabling both email and push notifications for booking confirmations. Email ensures you have a permanent record of your bookings and vouchers, while push notifications keep you immediately informed of important updates.
If you find you are receiving too many notifications, start by disabling push notifications while keeping email enabled. This maintains your access to important information while reducing interruptions.
When Notifications Are Sent
Booking confirmation notifications are sent at specific moments during your booking journey. You receive a notification when your booking is successfully placed, when the activity provider confirms your booking, if there are any changes to your booking status, and when your voucher becomes available.
The timing ensures you are always aware of the current state of your bookings and can take action if needed.
Troubleshooting Missing Notifications
If you are not receiving notifications you expect, check several things. First, verify your notification settings in the app are enabled for the type of notification you expect. Second, check your device settings to ensure the app has permission to send notifications. Third, for email notifications, check your spam or junk folder in case the emails are being filtered.
