Understanding Voting Results
After everyone in your travel group has cast their votes, the moment of truth arrives. The voting results screen reveals which activities resonated with your group, showing clear winners and surfacing unexpected areas of agreement. Understanding how to read and use these results helps you make informed decisions about what to include in your trip itinerary.
When Results Become Available
Voting results become available in two scenarios. The first is when the voting deadline expires based on the duration set by the host when creating the room. The second is when the host manually closes voting early, which they might do if everyone has finished voting before the deadline. Once results are available, all participants receive access to view them. The screen transforms from a voting interface into a comprehensive results dashboard.
The Results Overview
When you first open the results screen, you see a summary header that confirms voting is complete. This header shows the destination name, your trip dates, and how many people participated in the voting. The participant count helps contextualize the results, as unanimous agreement among 10 people is more significant than among 2. Below the header, you will see highlight cards summarizing the key insights from the voting data. These give you a quick sense of how the group voted without needing to dive into detailed breakdowns immediately.
Top Picks Section
The most prominent section of results shows your group's top picks. These are the activities that received the highest approval percentages, meaning the largest proportion of voters swiped right on them. The top three activities typically receive special highlighting with gold, silver, and bronze visual treatments, making it immediately obvious which experiences generated the most enthusiasm. Each top pick shows its approval percentage and the actual vote count, such as 4 of 5 liked.
Unanimous picks receive special attention. When every single voter liked an activity, it appears with a distinct indicator showing that this was a perfect match for the group. These unanimous choices represent the clearest wins and are excellent candidates for definite inclusion in your itinerary.
All Activities Ranking
Beyond the highlighted top picks, you can view a complete ranking of all activities that were in the voting pool. Tap on the All Activities card to see every option sorted by approval percentage from highest to lowest. This comprehensive list helps you understand the full spectrum of group preferences. You might discover that while your top 3 activities had 80-100% approval, there are another 5 activities with 60-75% approval that could be worth considering. Conversely, you can see which activities fell flat with the group and should probably be avoided.
Activities with more than 50% approval are typically considered winners, meaning more than half the group liked them. Activities below 50% had more passes than likes and likely would not excite the majority of your travelers.
Budget Preferences
The results also reveal how your group voted on activities across different price tiers. This budget insight helps you understand the collective willingness to spend on experiences. The budget section shows which price ranges received the most positive votes. You might discover that your group overwhelmingly liked budget-friendly options under a certain amount, or conversely that they gravitated toward premium experiences. This information is valuable when deciding whether to book multiple cheaper activities or fewer higher-end ones. The majority price preference is highlighted, giving you a quick sense of where the group's budget comfort zone lies.
Category Preferences
Another dimension of results shows which categories of activities performed best with your group. Did food and culinary experiences dominate? Were outdoor adventures the clear favorites? Did cultural attractions outperform thrill-seeking options? The category breakdown ranks activity types by how many positive votes they received. The top three categories are highlighted to show your group's primary interests. This information helps if you want to add more activities to your itinerary beyond what was in the voting pool, as you now know which types of experiences to prioritize.
Participant Statistics
The results include information about voting participation. You can see how many people voted and compare that to how many were invited. High participation rates lead to more representative results. Statistics might also show metrics like how many activities achieved unanimous approval and how many activities the majority liked. These aggregate numbers help you gauge overall group alignment. A trip where 15 activities got majority approval suggests lots of options everyone would enjoy, while only 3 winners might mean you need to be more selective.
What Hosts Can Do
If you created the voting room, you have additional capabilities from the results screen. The most direct option is to proceed to booking. From the results screen, you can tap into individual activities to check availability and add them to your cart. This manual approach gives you full control over exactly which activities to book and on which days. Alternatively, you can use the AI-powered planning feature. Tapping the Plan button initiates an intelligent itinerary generation process that takes the top-voted activities and organizes them into a day-by-day schedule. This saves significant time compared to manually researching optimal ordering and timing.
What Non-Host Participants See
Participants who voted but did not create the room can view all the same results data. They see the top picks, full rankings, category breakdowns, and budget preferences. However, they cannot initiate booking or AI planning. The interface clearly communicates that the host will handle trip planning based on the results. This prevents confusion about who is responsible for next steps while still keeping everyone informed about what the group collectively preferred.
Sharing Results
The results can be shared with your travel group through a share function. When you share results, recipients receive a summary of the voting outcome including top picks and overall statistics. Sharing is useful for keeping everyone in the loop, especially if some group members do not regularly check the app. It also serves as a record of what the group decided, which can be helpful later when someone asks why a particular activity was or was not included.
Using Results for Planning
The results are not just informational; they are actionable planning data. Use them to make confident decisions about your itinerary. Start with unanimous and near-unanimous activities as your foundation. These are essentially guaranteed crowd-pleasers. Then add activities from the majority-approved tier to fill out your schedule, prioritizing higher approval percentages. Consider the budget preferences when selecting how many activities to book. If the group showed preference for budget options, booking many lower-cost activities might be better received than fewer expensive ones. Use category preferences to break ties. If two activities have similar approval ratings but one is in a top-voted category, lean toward that one.
