Understanding how pricing works in MyPerfectStay helps you plan your travel budget effectively and avoid surprises at checkout. This guide explains how prices are displayed, what is included, and how currency conversion works.

How Prices Are Displayed

Prices appear in several places throughout the app, and each context shows slightly different information:

• Activity Cards - When browsing activities, you will see a "From" price displayed on each activity card. This represents the lowest available starting price per person for that activity. The actual price you pay may be higher depending on the date, time slot, and tour options you select.

• Activity Detail Page - Once you open an activity and start the booking process, you will see more specific pricing. After selecting your travel date, time slot, and number of travelers, the app calculates and displays the exact total for your booking.

• Cart and Checkout - Your cart shows the individual price for each item and the total for all items combined. At checkout, you will see the complete order summary with the final total including all taxes and fees.

Currency Display and Conversion

MyPerfectStay lets you view prices in your preferred currency for easier budgeting and comparison shopping.

Setting Your Preferred Currency

You can change your display currency from the Profile tab. The app supports many currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, and others. Your preference is saved and applies throughout the app.

How Currency Conversion Works

Activities are priced in their original currency (often EUR for European activities). When you set a different preferred currency, the app converts prices using current exchange rates. The conversion happens automatically whenever prices are displayed.

Exchange Rate Updates

Exchange rates are fetched from our servers and cached locally for performance. The rates are refreshed periodically to stay current with market conditions.

Final Charge Currency

While prices are displayed in your preferred currency for convenience, the actual charge to your payment method may be processed in the activity provider's original currency. Your bank or card provider will handle the final conversion at their rates if your card is denominated in a different currency.

Traveler Types and Pricing

Many activities have different prices based on traveler age categories. The available categories vary by activity and are defined by each activity provider:

• Adult - The standard adult rate, typically the base price you see advertised.

• Youth - Some activities offer reduced rates for young people, typically teenagers. The exact age range varies by activity.

• Child - Reduced rates for children. Age ranges are specific to each activity and displayed during booking.

• Infant - Very young children are often free or have significantly reduced rates. Check the activity details for specific age cutoffs.

• Senior - Some activities offer discounts for older travelers. Age requirements vary by activity.

Not all activities offer all traveler types. When you select your booking options, you will only see the traveler categories that are available for that specific activity. The age ranges for each category are shown so you can select appropriately.

What is Typically Included in the Price

The listed price for an activity generally includes the core experience and basic services:

• The Experience Itself - Entry fees, participation in the activity, and access to all advertised locations and attractions.

• Guide Services - For guided tours, the cost of your professional guide is included.

• Stated Inclusions - Any items specifically listed in the "What's Included" section of the activity details. This might include equipment, refreshments, transportation between stops, or other services.

Always check the "What's Included" section on the activity detail page to understand exactly what you are getting for the price.

What is Typically Not Included

Some costs are commonly excluded from activity prices:

• Gratuities - Tips for guides and staff are usually not included and are at your discretion based on the quality of service.

• Personal Expenses - Souvenirs, additional food or drinks beyond what is included, and personal purchases are your responsibility.

• Optional Extras - Some activities offer optional add-ons or upgrades during the experience that are not included in the base price.

• Transportation to Meeting Point - Unless specifically stated, getting to and from the activity meeting point is not included.

Exclusions are typically noted in the activity details, so review this information before booking.

Price Holds and Guarantees

When you add an activity to your cart, MyPerfectStay attempts to hold that price for you temporarily. This protects you from price changes while you complete your booking.

Price Hold

Once items are in your cart with an active hold, the price is locked for a limited time. You will see a countdown timer showing how long your hold remains valid.

What Happens When Price Hold Expires

If your price hold expires before you complete checkout, the price may change based on current availability and demand. Your items remain in your cart, but you may need to proceed at the updated price.

Securing Your Price

The best way to ensure you pay the price shown is to complete your checkout while your hold is active. Have your payment information ready before adding items to your cart.

Dynamic Pricing

Activity prices can fluctuate based on several factors:

• Demand - Popular dates, times, and activities may have higher prices. Booking in advance or choosing less popular time slots can sometimes result in better rates.

• Seasonality - Prices often vary by season. High season (summer months, holidays, school breaks) typically has higher prices than off-peak periods.

• Special Events - Local events, festivals, and holidays can affect pricing and availability.

• Currency Fluctuations - Since activities are priced in their original currency, the amount you see in your preferred currency will change as exchange rates fluctuate.

All-Inclusive Pricing

At checkout, the total shown includes all applicable taxes and fees. The message "All taxes and fees included" appears beneath your total to confirm that the amount shown is the final price you will pay. There are no hidden fees added after this point.

Price Tiers for Budgeting

When planning trips with the travel planning features, you may encounter price tier categories that help you filter activities by budget:

• Under $50 per person

• $50 to $150 per person

• $150 to $300 per person

• Over $300 per person

These tiers are based on prices converted to USD for consistency, then displayed in your preferred currency. They help you quickly identify activities that fit your budget without having to check each one individually.

Refunds and Cancellations

Refund eligibility depends entirely on the activity's cancellation policy, not on how you paid. Each activity has its own cancellation terms set by the activity provider. These terms are displayed on the activity detail page and during checkout.

Tips for Getting the Best Prices

• Book in Advance - Many activities offer better availability and sometimes better prices when booked ahead of your travel dates.

• Be Flexible with Dates - If your travel dates are flexible, checking different dates can reveal price variations.

• Consider Off-Peak Times - Early morning or later afternoon time slots may be priced lower than prime midday slots for popular activities.

• Compare Options - Some activities offer different tour options (small group vs. private, standard vs. premium) at different price points. Review all options to find the best value for your needs.
