Managing Payment Methods
Saving your payment information in MyPerfectStay makes checkout faster and more convenient. Instead of entering card details for every booking, you can select from saved cards and complete purchases with just a few taps. This guide explains how to manage your saved payment methods.
Accessing Payment Methods
To view and manage your saved payment methods, open the app and tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen. In the Settings section, tap Payments to open the Payment Methods screen.
This screen shows all cards you have previously saved, displaying each card's type, last four digits, and expiration date. If you have not saved any cards yet, you will see an empty state with an option to add your first card.
Adding a New Card
To add a new payment method, tap the Add card button at the bottom of the Payment Methods screen. This opens a form where you enter your card details.
You will need to provide your card number, expiration date, CVV security code, and the name as it appears on the card. Depending on the card type, you may also need to provide a billing address that matches the address on file with your card issuer.
After entering all required information, tap the save button to store the card. The app validates your card information before saving to ensure the details are correct.
Supported Card Types
MyPerfectStay accepts major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. The specific card networks available may vary based on your region and the activity providers you book with.
When you add a card, the app automatically detects the card type based on the card number and displays the appropriate logo.
Viewing Saved Cards
The Payment Methods screen displays all your saved cards in a list format. Each card entry shows the card type icon, the last four digits of the card number for identification, and the expiration date.
This information helps you identify which card is which without revealing sensitive details. Full card numbers are never displayed for security reasons.
Editing Card Information
If you need to update information for a saved card, tap on the card entry to access editing options. You can update certain details like the billing address associated with the card.
For security reasons, you cannot directly edit the card number or expiration date. If these details have changed, such as when your bank issues a new card with a new number or expiration, you need to remove the old card and add the new one as a fresh entry.
Removing a Card
To remove a saved card, locate it on the Payment Methods screen and tap the delete option. A confirmation dialog appears asking if you are sure you want to delete the card. Confirm the deletion to remove the card from your saved payment methods.
Removing a card only affects future bookings. Any existing bookings that were paid for with that card are not affected. If you need a refund for a previous booking, it will still process to the original payment method even after you remove it from your saved cards.
Deleting All Cards
If you want to remove all saved cards at once, the Delete All Cards option appears below your card list when you have cards saved. Tapping this option prompts a confirmation asking if you want to delete all your saved cards.
This is useful if you want a clean slate or if you are concerned about having multiple cards stored. After deleting all cards, you will need to enter payment information manually for your next booking.
Card Security
Your payment card information is protected using industry-standard security measures. MyPerfectStay does not store your full card number or CVV security code on your device or in plain text on our servers.
Payment processing is handled through secure, PCI-compliant payment providers. When you save a card, a secure token is created that represents your card without exposing the actual card details. This tokenization approach means your sensitive card data is protected even if other parts of the system were compromised.
Using Saved Cards at Checkout
When you proceed to checkout for a booking, you can select from your saved cards rather than entering payment information again. Your saved cards appear as options with their last four digits and card type shown for easy identification.
If you have multiple cards saved, simply tap the one you want to use for this particular booking. You can also choose to enter a new card at checkout if preferred.
Troubleshooting Payment Issues
If a saved card is declined during checkout, several issues might be the cause. First, check whether the card has expired by comparing the expiration date shown in your saved cards. If the card is expired, you need to remove it and add your new card.
Ensure there are sufficient funds or credit available on the card. Contact your bank if you believe the card should work but transactions are being declined. Some banks flag international transactions or first-time merchants, and a quick call to your bank can resolve this.
If the card was recently replaced by your bank, the card number or expiration date may have changed. Remove the old card and add the new one with updated details.
As a last resort, try removing the card and adding it again. Sometimes a fresh card entry resolves connection issues between the app and payment processors.
